Reporting Made for Modern Media
Luke reports with our modern digital reality in mind. He combines traditional reporting with video, photography, and digital production to create journalism that is built for an online audience without sacrificing editorial rigor.
At Raw America (combined audience of 2.7 million), Luke developed and led a digital-first approach to on-the-ground journalism from Capitol Hill to the U.S.-Mexico border. His multimedia reporting has since generated more than 6.3 million impressions and 1.7 million likes across Substack, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, demonstrating that serious journalism can thrive in the modern media landscape. Raw America is a multimedia-first affiliate of Raw Story that provides real-time news and Capitol Hill updates with a progressive lens.
With a congressional press pass, his work focuses on congressional hearings and interviews with representatives on Capitol Hill. Luke also reports from DC as a correspondent and media consultant for The Laslo Congressional Bureau. His reporting has also appeared in Fair Observer, where he examines geo-political affairs through an international lens.
Luke earned his Master's in Journalism from New York University, where he excelled in reporting and multimedia storytelling for The Click news. He also studied Foreign Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Virginia, bringing a global perspective to American politics and public policy.
The story comes first.
Multimedia journalism brings more people to it.
Why Multimedia Journalism?
The modern journalist must do more than report events. The media landscape is rapidly changing, but the need for professional journalism is at an all-time high. Audiences expect reporting that is immediate, visual, and accessible across platforms, yet, many express dissatisfaction with the state of journalism in today’s algorithm-focused, bias-laden world.
The ideal modern journalist must build on the traditional skillset of communication, source-building, and fact-checking and become fluent at creating work that can cut through the noise and reach as many people as possible in as many formats as possible. Luke's work reflects this evolution. His reporting combines traditional journalistic standards with multimedia storytelling to provide context, increase accessibility, and extend the reach of public affairs reporting without sacrificing accuracy or depth.
